COMING UP ON FBi

FRIDAY 19 DECEMBER

MIDDAY MIX 12PM
Ok, so Disco has come back in to fashion. No, not that Bee Gees junk - good, cosmic, danceable disco. Now, the man who's been at the forefront of the new breed is coming to Sydney for the first time. Pilooski's ultra-limited no-repress edits have become cult collector pieces and enjoy currency amongst the world's most discriminating music heads. As a DJ, he moves deftly between Krautrock, northern acid soul and south italo-disco (with a bit of French touch for good measure). Catch him playing Saturday December 20 at Slide, 41 Oxford Street, Darlinghurst. He's french, he plays disco and he's doing an exclusive mix for FBi. Swooooon!

SATURDAY 20 DECEMBER

DISCOTEK 10PM
This Saturday on discotek get ready for an explosion of Boston bounce, with a combination of b-more club, one drop reggae and German shuffle techno Saturday night’s gonna be crazy!

SUNDAY 21 DECEMBER

WEEKEND LUNCH 12PM
Emma Swift will be joined by Sean Hocking from underground record label, Metal Postcard. He's got a stack of great music recommendations to keep you in the know this summer, and will also have details for free MP3s you can download for the festive season! Later in the afternoon, Steve Kilbey will be in the studio to play some fresh tunes and spruik the upcoming gig of his new band, Painkiller.

LOOSE JOINTS 3PM
This Sunday's Loose Joints has a particularly festive flavour with not one, but two special guests on the show. One of them being resident Health Club DJ Mikie Inglis who'll be popping in to play a few specially picked yuletide jams that won't make you shriek "bah humbug" in disgust!
Also, Captain Franco of the legendary Dynamite parties will be in to spin some faves from the 50s in preparation for Two Shoes - a rockin' swing party going down at Spectrum in Darlinghurst on Christmas Eve.
There’ll be plenty of sounds to savor in your stocking this Sunday on Loose Joints with Tyson Koh.

MONDAY 22 DECEMBER

SUNSET 6PM
Tune in for Simon Caldwell’s Christmas special - A selection of some favourites from the year almost gone, plus a special little Chicago Booty House mix by Simon. Get on that candy cane!

TUESDAY DECEMBER 23

TUNE UP 12PM
Each Tuesday just before midday Stuart Coupe scurries into the studio with a pile of cover versions, remixes, reworkings and mash-ups that he's unearthed in the previous week - plus a smattering of classics. OK, it's the Tuesday before Christmas but he's not going to bombard you with a whole hour of cover versions of Christmas songs - let's face it, how many great ones are there? But there will be a smattering of the Stuart endorsed best . . . plus a studio guest. Tune Up - Tuesdays at midday.

LOOSE JOINTS 3PM
It's that weird week between Chrissy and New Year's where you keep looking for something to do, when you forget that all you're meant to do is relax, get outdoors and have a good time. Well - why not take your radio to the beach and enjoy the grooves on Loose Joints this Sunday with Tyson Koh.
It's an eclectic look at the music of the last few decades and this Sunday he's gonna keep it particularly light and funky so as not to disturb your snooze on the grass.
Weather permitting, of course.

MIDDAY MIX 12PM
Ben Rymer used to be part of UK band Fat Truckers. They received quite a bit of attention with their debut album released on Gigolo Records back in 2003 and The Rapture even wrote a song about him called No Sex For Ben. More recently he's teamed up with the massively talented producer Riton for a project called Gucci Soundsystem. The pair run a regular London club night called "Druzzis Baltimore Rave club" and have remixed Soulwax and Tiefschwarz as well as releasing tracks and remixes on New York's DFA label. Catch Gucci Soundsystem in Sydney for the first time on FBi's Midday Mix.
