Well, thankfully. we're smarter than that and know the difference between a distribution revolution and ripping people off. Surf around a little and you'll find heaps of artists, record labels and weblogs offering legal MP3 downloads - all designed to give you a taster of some new music. If you like your free sampler, you go and buy the album. Simple.

| THE HOOK
|  | What do you get when you put a New York hustler, an English private eye and a Sydney beat monkey in a recording studio together??. The sleazy, unlubricated sound of The Hook, a new twist in the Aussie hip hop scene.
The Hook is serious hip hop for people who ain't so serious. Vocals are provided by Ran-Dee, from Stanmore via Brooklyn - always with plenty to say, often with his tongue firmly in his cheek. Rob, aka 'Thrust' really is private detective and writes most of the tunes. Dave Robertson is the beat monkey at the contols, the guru behind the desk and the man who brings it all together.
The Hook are studio-only at the moment but intend to be busting out into the live arena towards the end of the year. |
