WANT TO SUBMIT YOUR OWN MUSIC? If you're a Sydney artist, band or producer (signed or unsigned) we want to hear from you. Select a track that you think best represents your music and that you're happy for FBi members to download at no charge. The only proviso is that you must host the mp3 file yourself (either on your own web site or your label's site etc).  UPSHOT

Drawing together a wealth of musical talent, UPSHOT have been playing and evolving as a group over the last three to four years. Live shows across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane have honed an assembly of players into an impressive unit.

The exotic live hip hop sound of UPSHOT is a celebration of good music. Music for the head, body and heart. A rich bed of jazz laced tunes - peppered with the dynamic vocal workout of MC's Quro (Reference Point/ Fuglemen) and Brass (Celsius) - are the usual servings from this outfit.

Gaining radio support for their debut EP, released through Melbourne powerhouse Obese Records, UPSHOT have contributed music to the 'ObeseCity' compilation as well as to 'Airheads' (2001 DMA Compilation of The Year). The last two years have been spent recording the band's debut full length album, scheduled to drop in the coming few months.

 SQUIGGLE

Since y2k I have been backpacking each year through Asia and I spend half my time there DJ'ing and producing with a laptop.
For the last year I have been using a gaming glove (to DJ with).
Sydney is just a base for me, as I regularly spend time travelling in Australia too - Byron region and Melbourne being regular haunts.

Lived 8 years in Melbourne up until y2k. In that time I was secretary of Clan Analogue Melbourne Member of first(?) Australian laptop act DoSE a 3-piece totally-improv techno band Also member of electro-acoustic improv act signal2noise.

During that period I often organised electronica workshops to teach people how to make techno and to also have jams with acoustic musicians at outdoor events (eg Earthcore, Confest).

 THE GIVEGOODS

The givegoods released their debut album last year to
accross the board critical acclaim and not much else.
In the down-time waiting for damn european bass
players to return to the country the bands songwriters
Tom and Andy recorded 17 new demos. Enjoy.
