| THE CHARLES MANSON EXPERIMENT
| | The Charles Manson Experiment have played about the clubs and pubs of our fair city since the middle of 2004, and have performed live on both the Naked City and The Bridge Unsigned shows on FBi radio. With Dereck Cannon and Cassady Maddox sharing lead vocals, TCME have been arguably likened to Sonic Youth, The Pixies and Jefferson Airplane. The music has been genrelised as everything from punk to folk, from psychedelic to grunge, and from power pop to good old fashioned rock 'n' roll. Emotive and powerful, it's rock music that expresses freedom and compels honesty in corrupt society. Heaven & hell, harmony & dischord, cats & dogs; humanity is contradiction and The Charles Manson Experiment make the most of the least of it all.

| THE DAWN COLLECTIVE
| | The Dawn Collective¹s music combines soaring vocals, richly orchestrated guitar and cello parts, and elaborate rhythms of percussion and bass. Recording "The Dawn Collective EP" just months after forming, this debut release gained airplay on Sydney radio station FBi. In September of last year they took second place in the NSW state finals of the National Campus Band Comp (after winning both the local and regional finals), and this success has allowed the band to play headline shows in Canberra, Wollongong, Sydney and Newcastle.
To round out 2004 the band was listed as one of the top ten unsigned Sydney acts for the year in The Brag street press, and they were awarded best local band website at the Wollongong Music Awards for their self-designed site.
The recording of a second EP has just been completed, with production being carried out by Caleb James from Brisbane band Rhubarb. "The Affirmation EP" is due out shortly, and with plans for touring underway, 2005 is looking to be another big year for The Dawn Collective.

| OTIUM
| | The formative years for Sydney based Otium were turbulent, with the gain and loss of a number of band members. The lineup was solidified in the first half of 2003, when Dom (guitar) joined the band after working on separate projects with both Nel (vocals) and Denis (bass). With the inclusion of Dave (drums), Otium set about doing months of song writing and rehearsing. In December of 2003, Otium hit the recording studio to record a three track demo which made it's way onto the internet. The track "Push Me Over" reached #11 on the Alternative charts, and #48 overall on the music website MP3.com.au.
In 2004 Otium hit the stage after solid rehearsing, which led to the band securing supports for acts such as Evermore, Full Scale and Primary. Otium released their debut single, "Symbiosis", which was well received and led to airplay in most states of Australia, including an addition to the daytime playlist of FBi Radio, one of Sydney's primary independent radio stations, as well as reaching #1 on the Ambient Alternative chart on MP3.com.au. 2005 looks to be an even bigger year for Otium, with the impending release of more singles whilst they continue to play and improve upon their already impressive live performance.
