 | Llupa, aka Tom Herbert-Doyle, has been writing tunes on and off for about 4 years.
It started with a job as an assistant audio engineer in a London recording studio, where he was left to watch over hugely expensive music equipment with loads of flashing lights, knobs and faders.
With this array of wonderful equipment to play with, he had to start writing his own music, teaching himself along the way. Fast forward a few years, and he is now a qualified audio engineer who dabbled in Sydney's live rock scene for a couple of years before returning to writing and producing his own brand of music in his home studio.
llupa's initial forays into writing electronic music were influenced by the big guns; Leftfield, Underworld and The Prodigy, but over the years his tastes have diversified, taking in old school funk, soul, dub, hip hop and reggae among other genres.
llupa is now happily entrenched in Breaks, a genre that allows him the variety that he enjoys.
His love for all music has also given him a diverse record collection and he has recently picked up his Dj cap again, hoping to start playing his own tunes out n about in Sydney soon. |
